Our Task
Our task was to add a feature to an already existing app that we thought would help the user base. We had all been ordering food during covid using DoorDash and thought about what feature would help the app. As we searched, we found that Shoes.com experienced a 119% increase in conversions after offering product ratings & reviews. We realized that this is what DoorDash was missing.

Considerations

How do competitors implement a system for reviews?

Will our data be pulled from external sources, or will we use our own data and reviews users have personally created.
Design Strategy
We utilized the double-diamond design method. My first course of action was to better understand review systems that were utilized by competitors in the field.

After understanding review systems better. I realized user interviews would benefit our future design process. By hopefully decreasing design flaws or trying to implement features that weren't sought after by users.


Persona Creation
With a bunch of user interviews, we could better envision whom we were designing for.

Rough Draft User Flows
We created user flows for reference so as we design and prototype, we understand the steps a user would go through. These early drafts helped us minimize the steps the user would have to go through in the initial design concept.
